There are several differences. Historically, their approach to natives was completely different as South Carolina people more or less removed almost all Natives from the land while northerners didn't. North Carolina also developed agriculture and industry way more than the South Carolina did because of the land and its possibilities. South Carolina also had slaves as a part of its tradition while North didn't.
