How did the united states respond to the french defeat at bien dien phu?


The United States respond to the french defeat at Bien Dien Phu by taking over the anti-communist fight which resulted into 20 more years of warfare in Vietnam.  As the Cold War heated the U.S became more involved in the conflict. American volunteers (often civilian) and equipment were extensively committed help the French in the conflict.
